This Holy Week, our staff invites you to consider joining our community in a commitment to deeper discipleship through fasting and prayer. Holy Week is a sacred time in the life of the Church, and we desire to offer the space for you to pursue Jesus more closely during this week.

Fasting in community is a beautiful reflection of the shared life of the Church and the common grace of God at work in each of us. We recognize that fasting is not prescriptive; many of us are in different places in our journeys with Jesus and have different stories and physical limitations.

If you would like to participate in fasting this Holy Week, here are the next steps:

1. Choose a timeframe for your fast:

  • Full Week: Fast beginning Monday, March 30, and ending Easter morning, April 5.

  • Half Week (Option 1): Fast beginning Monday, March 30, and ending the evening of Wednesday, April 1.

  • Half Week (Option 2): Fast beginning Thursday, April 2, starting at dinner, and ending Easter morning, April 5.

2. Choose a fasting option that is physically and mentally possible for you.

Regardless of which option you pick, we encourage you to be realistic without losing the opportunity to walk in the true spirit of fasting. The goal of this time is to commit together to a greater dependence on the Spirit, open more time for prayer, and walk together in obedience.

Suggestions include:

  • Water-Only Fast

  • Liquid-Only Fast (Broths, Juices, etc.).

  • Fruit & Vegetable Fast

  • Daily Fast from Sunrise to Sunset

If food-related fasting is not possible, consider abstaining from all forms of entertainment or something similar

This list is not exhaustive; you are invited to discern what Jesus is calling you into.

During this sacred week, you can expect:

  • Daily prayer guides for morning, midday, and evening

  • Daily online meetings for sharing, connection, encouragement, and prayer

  • Guided tips and encouragement
